CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese Started Organic Vegetable Farming and Paddy Cultivation
Ecology concerns committee of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese entered into an elaborate and a new model in the field of eco-gospel. Church initiated to start organic vegetable and crop cultivation at Kottayam, Kumarakom, etc. Diocesan Ecology concerns committee with the co-operation of Kerala Govt. Horticorp Product Development Corporation started organic vegetable farming in the 5 acres of land at Baker hill Kottayam. Also doing organic farming in the bishop’s house compound.
In Kumarakom, church started paddy cultivation in 2.5 acres of land near CSI Eco-spirituality center. CSI Moderator Most Rev Thomas K Oommen inaugurating the paddy cultivation of the Diocese by sowing seeds on the fields at Kumarakam. Diocesan Ecology convener Rev. Jiji Joseph took initiative for all the arrangements.
