The Most Revd Thomas K. The Ordination Service was held on August 18, 2017 at the CSI Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kottayam at 09.30 AM. It was one of a historical moment for the church on this Bicentenary year that a big number of deacons were ordained. Nearly 4000 people (believers, pastors, church workers, etc) attended the ordination service.
The Revd Sam Samuel was the preacher, who basing on St. Paul’s First Epistle to Timothy, Chapter 3, Verses 1 – 13, reminded that a deacon should have ‘Teaching Ability’, ‘Management Ability’, ‘Attitude of Humility & Simplicity’ and ‘Perfect Integrity’. He emphasized that the role of Church Leaders is not to ‘rule’ but to represent the compassionate Christ and ‘tend’ the flock. He also said what we do (mission) should correspond with what we are (witness).
