The fourth mission field outside the Diocese was started in 1996 at H D Kote, in Mysore, known as the ‘Mysore Mission’. Mr Kurian Mathew and his wife Dr Mrs Ruby Kurian are the missionaries. They work among those who are economically poor and socially backward. The Keralites who are settled in Mysore are a great help for the outreach of the Gospel. Medical work is carried on and is a blessing to the poor people. The growing Christian influence has indirectly affected the non-Christians and a desire for improving their socio-economic and religious conditions is visible.
Kalhatti Mission field (2016)
Christ Church Mavelikara, in gratitude of their fruitful existence as a Parish for the past 175 years has adopted a new area of mission work, 36 km away from our Mysore mission centre at Hampapura. The first evangelist was dedicated by the bishop in the presence of Rev.George Cherian and a number of members from Christ church Mavelikara at Mysore mission centre. A cluster of villages around ‘Kalhatti’ village will be the mission area in which the evangelist will be working.
